James H. Nooner, a farmer, Vietnam Vet, hard worker, and loving father, cashed in his chips on April 17, 2020, at the age of 73, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was engulfed with love and presence from his five sons, Richie, Michael, Justin, Patrick, and Andrew, daughter-in-law Misty, grandchildren Aeris and Jacob, and many more loved ones from abroad.
Jim was born on November 21, 1946 to Margaret M. Nooner (Opitz) and Cleve C. Nooner in Pasco, WA. James and his three siblings (Jerry, Patricia, and Larry) were raised by a single mother who taught them how hard work and perseverance could open an array of opportunities. Jim raised his children with these same values, along with their mother, Margaret A. Richards (Cox), their stepfather and Jim’s best friend Gregory A. Richards.
He had a passion for collecting stamps, farming, and playing cards. Although his greatest love was spending time with his family. Jim would do anything for his family, no matter the cost. In his later years, he spent his time traveling around the United States to visit family. Over the years, he has collected thousands of stamps, played hundreds of card games and visited many cities and states.
He was blessed with a loving mother, two brothers, one sister, five sons, thirteen grandchildren, five wonderful daughters-in-law, and many more nieces, nephews, and friends. Everyone who Jim has met will miss him dearly.
James H. Nooner will be laid to rest in his hometown of Prosser, Washington in the Summer of 2021.
