Julia Garfia, loving daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, 54, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado, surrounded by the love of her family.Julia was born on August 3, 1971, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Frances Vasquez and John Martinez. She lived a life rooted in love, devotion, and family, and she gave so much of herself to the people she held dear. Julia will be remembered for her gentle heart, her strength, her kindness, and the way she made others feel cared for and welcomed. Her love for her family was unwavering, and her presence brought comfort, warmth, and joy to those around her.She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Heron Vasquez; her sister, Jessica Martinez; her nephew, Emmit Lugo; her aunt, Mary Helen Lopez; and her grandparents, Eva and Nick Romero.She is survived by her parents, Frances Vasquez and John Martinez; her loving partner, Isidro Fierro; her children, Jaqueline (O’Brian) Quezada, Christopher (Jocelyn) Alamilla, Debra (Gelasio) Ildefonso, and Gabriel Alamilla; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Fernando) Marchand; her six beloved grandchildren; her seven step-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.Julia was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. She loved spending quiet moments working on crossword puzzles, preparing delicious meals for her family, and creating beautiful beadwork with care and patience. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and she treasured every laugh, hug, and moment shared with them. Julia was happiest when her home was filled with family, good food, laughter, and the love that she so freely gave to everyone around her.Julia leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, warm heart, and generous spirit will never be forgotten.She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.A celebration of Julia’s life will be held on August 3, 2026 11am at the Church of the Nazarene in Rocky Ford.
