Linda Leonard Ohler

12/16/1947 – 03/09/2018

Linda Leonard-Ohler entered the kingdom of heaven at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO with her daughter and son-in-law by herside on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the age of 70.

She is preceded in death by her parents Earl Leonard and Marie Hebert Leonard, 3 siblings Robert Joeseph Leonard, Earl “Whimpy” Leonard, Dorothy Marie Arendt (the late John Michael Arendt), her devoted husband Larry Charles Ohler Sr. and her daughter Dennise Marie Braud. She is survived by her siblings Rose Leonard Mayard (Arthur Paul Mayard Jr), Daniel Leo Leonard Sr. (Joise Arendt Leonard), Keith “Knuckle” Arendt (Kathy Toups Arendt), her children Jade Braud Wade (Ernest John Wade) and Jason Earl Leonard Sr (Perla Lizbeth Leonard). “Granny” loved all 6 of her grandchildren, Kolibe Marie Wade, Kail John Wade, Eva Maire Leonard, Elianna Marie Leonard, Jade Marie Leonard, and Jason Earl Leonard Jr. “Gigi” was also blessed with 2 beautiful great-grandchildren Samantha Rose Dartez and Zayden Wyatt Dartez. She is also remebered and beloved by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Linda was born on December 16, 1947 in New Orleans, Lousiana. In the early 1980’s she went to work for Otis (Halliburton) and would become the first and for years the only female crane operator in the Gulf Coast region. She would leave the oil field in the late 1980’s and would meet and marry  Larry C. Ohler Sr. They resided in Belle Chasse, LA where they owned and operated “The Seatrain Tavern.” She also worked for the  Plaquemines Parish School Board in various capacities for many years. She most enjoyed her time as the famed “Cardinal” mascot for Belle Chasse High School during friday night football games. She had a certain “Joie de vivre” that she would share with everyone she met. She was a true one of kind that always spoke her mind without apology. She cared deeply for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always held a special light in her heart for them.

Services will be held at the White Auditorium on Belle Chasse Hwy on Friday, March 23, 2018 between the hours of 6 – 9 pm with ceremonies begining at 7. As our mother was beloved by so many all are welcomed to come and share their stories.
