Ann Rita Pasqua Ingram, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Born on October 17, 1931, in New Rochelle, New York, to Natale Pasqua and Rose Comodeo Pasqua, Ann grew up in Premium Point. Her childhood was defined by summers on Long Island Sound, Christmas memories in Manhattan, an assortment of beloved pets through the years, and travel with her parents. She loved art, classical music and theatre. Ann was in her own right a gourmet cook, although her parents were puzzled as to why she would want to take cooking lessons. She was a student of both Julia Child and James Beard.
Though her first marriage was brief, her daughter Maria was a gift of that union.
When Ann lost her daughter and parents within months of each other, she left everything behind and began to wander the world. She has lived on every continent except Antarctica, which held no appeal to her. It was in Spain that she met Sam Ingram. Sam and Ann were well-matched—witty, intelligent, adventurous. They married in England and eventually settled in Sam’s hometown of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, to be close to Sam’s parents. Ann welcomed Sam’s children Donna, Leslie and Sam, Jr., into her heart, and Sam’s extended family became hers. She was especially fond of her bonus grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. Spending time with them was a joy to her.
They enjoyed 15 years of marriage, with Sam passing away in 1990 in Charleston, SC. Relocating to Monroe, Louisiana, Ann resided there until 2023, when she moved to Colorado Springs to live with her friends Lyn and Laura. Family cat Lila adopted Ann almost immediately when she moved into the house — her “Lila Baby.” She loved animals, children and fine dining.
A glass of red wine was her favorite, but it had to be a very good Cabernet.
Ann had a lifetime of amazing stories, filled with adventure, love, excitement and tragedy. She was a generous and loyal friend who was supportive and inspiring to those she loved. She had a lion’s heart and spirit, strong and true.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, at 10 a.m. at Manitou’s Community Congregational Church. A light reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Happy Cats Haven or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
