With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Dylan Thomas Mollentine, who was taken from us suddenly on March 25,2025 at the age of 34. He brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his infectious laughter, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty to his friends and family. 

Though his time with us was short, the depth of love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.

Growing up in the Kansas City area Dylan developed a passion for the outdoors, Native American culture, the KC Chiefs and KC Royals and spending time with family.  

Dylan is survived by a heartbroken family including his parents, Carrie and Cassy Scheffer, his father, Richard Mollentine, his son, Hayden Scheffer, his siblings, Sean Mollentine (Sydney) and Will Scheffer, his grandmother, Joyce Guyer and many extended family members and friends who loved him endlessly. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Givens Barker.  

Per Dylan’s wishes, close family will remember him and celebrate his life privately at a future date. 

Though Dylan’s light may have dimmed, the love and memories he leaves behind will continue to illuminate the lives of those he touched. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will forever remain in our hearts.
