Samuel Michael McCoy, Mike or sometimes Poohbear to those that knew him well, went fishing permanently January 4, 2025. He was a beloved brother, uncle, son, grandson, nephew, Cousin and friend. He was a longtime resident of Fountain, Colorado. He was well known for selling fruits with his Grandpa, Frank/Dan Howe off Fontaine Blvd and at the Fountain markets.
Before his illness he truly enjoyed going fishing. If he could get up to Terryall or Rampart he’d spend the full day there.
Mike struggled with addictions of one kind or another most of his life. For the last four years of his life his loved ones got to have a clean and sober Mike back in their lives to love and cherish. His heart was amazingly huge and he had a sense of humor. Either you liked that humor or you wanted to jab him in the nose, but either way you’d end up laughing. He worked hard and went to as many meetings as his illness would allow.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Margaret, his Grandma and Grandpa, Ellouise and Frank Howe, his uncle Jimmy and aunt Loise, his brother Jack and his bio father.
He’s survived by his Sister and her husband, Christina and Shawn Rainbolt, his niece Aindrea, nephews, Johnathen and Shawn Patrick and niece-in-law Tyana. He’s also survived by his remaining Aunt Laurie and Uncle Danny. He’s survived by his caretaker/ cousin Danielle and his “nieces”, Alison and Victoria and “nephew”, Jesse.
Mike was loved by more than he ever knew and is wished peace by those that will miss him.
