Joshua was a truly wonderful soul, known for his unwavering kindness, boundless generosity, and an inner beauty that shone through his every action. He was a man of immense intelligence, a passionate reader, and a dedicated theologian who had a deep understanding of the Word of God. Joshua’s devotion to his faith was a guiding light in his life, and he shared that light with others as a pastor for the Salvation Army for six years.
Joshua and his loving wife, Chelcee Humphrey, together served as captains (pastors) in the Salvation Army, ministering to their congregations in Oxnard, California, and The Antelope Valley. Joshua’s love for the Lord was evident in his every word and deed, and his passion for studying and preaching the Word of God was truly inspiring. He had a remarkable talent for playing the piano, infusing every note with a depth of emotion and passion that resonated with all who had the privilege of hearing him play. His music, like his spirit, was a gift that touched the hearts of many.
Joshua is survived by his devoted wife, Chelcee, and four children, Skylar Humphrey (20), Justin Humphrey (18), Jeremiah Humphrey (6), and Brooks Humphrey (1). His mother Linda Lee Humphrey and his two younger sisters Michelle and Christina. Joshua is preceded in death by his father Richard Alan Humphrey.
His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the honor of knowing him. Joshua’s gentle and kind spirit made him easy to talk to, and his desire to help people better understand the mysteries of the Bible was a testament to his caring and nurturing nature.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, a doting father, and a faithful servant of God. As we mourn the loss of Joshua, let us also celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire us to be kind, generous, and to love the Lord with all our hearts.
