Pueblo native and long-time resident Don A. Dye, 74, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023,  at home in the comfort of family. He was born January 28, 1949, the third child of Betty and Barney Dye. He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Sharon; daughters Amy Dye, Katy Dye and Stacy (Jake) Oreskovich; fourth “adopted” daughter, Nancy Mitchell; adored grandson, Owen Oreskovich and numerous family and friends. One of six children, Don graduated from Central High School in 1967. He then continued with ROTC in college and finished with a degree in Marine Biology. He was an U.S. Army veteran after six years of service. His education continued with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Colorado State College. The majority of Don’s over 30-year nursing career was spent at CMHIP. Don enjoyed playing slots, hunting, fishing and his Colorado sports teams. He will be remembered for thoughtful flowers, joking around, his caring nature, always being there for family at every event and activity, love of the outdoors and hiding behind items to scare someone. Don is deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure. He will forever be cherished in our hearts and never forgotten. Respecting Don’s wishes, there will be no services.
