Christopher Lynn Card

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we bid farewell to Christopher Lynn Card, who passed away on June 13, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Co. He left an unforgettable mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chris was born to Clif & Sue Nielsen Card in Brigham City, Utah 3 days before Christmas in 1967. He was welcomed home by big brother Kent. He later welcomed sisters Niki & Stephanie. The family lived in Ogden for the first few years & enjoyed spending time supporting Dad’s hobby of Drag Racing, spending many hours working on cars & at the drag strip.
In 1975 the family moved to Fruit Heights and life changed to sports & football. Chris started at the age of seven playing for Riverdale Rec then on to Farmington Rec & Kaysville Rec Baseball as a catcher. He also played AAU Basketball at The Marshall White Center in Ogden. Many friends were made along the way.
At Kaysville Jr High Chris was on the basketball & wrestling teams. Moving on to become a Davis Dart 84-86, where he played football & basketball. As a senior, Chris earned 1st Team All State in Football as a running back. After high school, Chris went on to the College of Eastern Utah to play football there for 2 more years.
Chris was a single father for many years. Chris moved from Utah to Colorado Springs, Co, spending the last 20 years there.
Chris was an avid sports fan of the following teams: Davis Darts, Utah Jazz, Utah Utes, Weber State, and of course his beloved Denver Broncos.
Chris worked in the car industry as a painter until an injury painting a cab of a dump truck stopped his painting career. He then went on to be an estimator for different body shops.
He is survived by his parents, Clif & Sue Card; brother Kent (Michelle) Card, sisters Niki Mixon, Stephanie (Kevin) Munson, brother-in-law Larry Mixon. His daughter Lyndsi; grandsons Matthew & Xander Cross, Bjorn. His son Hunter Card aka Chris Hunter. Many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, & Cousins. As well as friends that became Chris’ family.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Jesse & June Nielsen, Ted & Vivian Card. Uncle Mike Nielsen, Aunt & Uncle Marge & John Gonsalves, cousins Dustin Dahlin, & Tyler Nielsen.
Our family would like to give a very special THANK YOU to Joe, Mike, & the Colorado Springs Maaco family on Garden of The Gods Road for being there for Chris to the end.
There will be a Memorial Service/Celebration of Life for Chris on August 19, 2023 at the home of his parents. 303 Oak Lane, Kaysville Ut 84037.
Visitation 11:30 AM to 1:00 pm. Service at 1:00 pm. Family & friends are welcome to stay after the service to remember Chris. Light refreshments will be served. Casual dress or your favorite sports team apparel.
