Kurt Ronald Dietz, 59, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of natural causes on July 20, 2023. He died at home surrounded by family.

Kurt was born in Evanston, IL and grew up in the Chicago metro area. He graduated from Marengo High School and maintained many friendships from that era. He joined the United States Air Force out of high school where he served as a firefighter. After the military he worked as a printer in Chicago. He later obtained an Associate’s degree from Elgin Community College in Culinary Arts and worked as a chef in many different locations and states, but was most proud of his position aboard the Island C boat in Kodiak, AK.

Kurt is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Morgan of Colorado Springs, a sister, Laura London (Tony Bonino) of Colorado Springs, an uncle, aunt, several cousins, a nephew, three nieces and five great-nieces and nephews. 

Kurt will be remembered for his dry wit and unique sense of humor. He loved adventure and the Great Outdoors, hiking, biking, camping, gardening, and traveling. He was passionate about All Things concerning Yellowstone National Park.
