Joanne “Towdie” Disney, 93, passed away on December 1st, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born April 30, 1929 as Evelyn Joanne Christian in Pasadena, California. Towdie enjoyed growing up in San Marino, California near the sunny California mountains. She lived most of her later years in Glenview, Illinois and Buffalo Grove, Illinois. She deeply loved her children, both two-legged and four-legged. She had her beloved dog, Coco, by her side until the very end of her life. Throughout her loving marriage she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Jerry. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Towdie was also devoted to St. David’s Church in Glenview and sang in their choir for many years. She was also an active tennis player and a volunteer for Glenbrook Hospital for many years. 

Towdie is survived by her children – Patrick (Linda), Michael (Elizabeth), Janet Seaverns (George), and Sandy (Ann) as well as beloved family friend, Barb Thoma (Wayne). Also surviving are nine grandchildren – Sara, Alex, Lisa, Julie, Micaela, Michael, Brock, Trevor, and Wyatt – as well as four great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are sisters-in-law Susan Mabee and Patience Weigand as well as many nieces and nephews. Towdie was pre-deceased by her beloved husband (Gerald), her son (Thomas), her sister (Jeanne Suttle) and her parents (Geoffrey and Izora Christian). Memorial services will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Glenview at a later date.
