James R. Lyons peacefully departed to Heaven from Colorado Springs, CO. on October 23, 2022, at the age of 66. 
He was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He served in the Army (Combat Engineering / 12 Bravo). From 1973- April 1980. After being stationed at Fort Carson, he spent 30 years in Colorado raising his children and family before retiring to Florida.
Jim had such a bright soul. He touched everybody around him with his unconditional love, humor and smile. He was a loving husband, an amazing father and “Papa” and an even better friend. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, sports, taking care of his bird, Cannoli and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loyal, humble, and fighting spirit who was generous with praise, humor, his faith and his compassion for others. 
Jim was blessed with a large family that he has left behind. He was surrounded by their presence and love to help carry him home.
Jim is survived and missed by his wife: Diane Lyons. His Children: Sean Lyons and Jeannie Veldhuis. His Siblings: Dave Bailey, Gary Lyons, Seana Bailey, Rob Lyons, John Bailey, and Kathleen Bailey. As well as his Grandchildren: Caleb, Ayden, and Landon Veldhuis.
