Longtime Garcia, Colorado resident, Wanda Cordova, 77, passed away September 12, 2022 at Penrose Hospital – ICU unit in Colorado Springs Colorado, with her loving family by her side. Wanda was born on October 5, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Ivan Pierson and Mildred Pierson, Upland, Nebraska. Wanda united in marriage to David Cordova on March 26, 1960 and the two shared a long and happy union until the passing of her husband David on April 26, 2018. Wanda was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed gardening, caring for her cat, and which was known in the community for her baking which she loved doing. Wanda also loved spending as much time as she could with family and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Mildred Pierson, husband; David J. Cordova, son; David (Davy) Cordova, sister; Sandra Olivas and great-granddaughter Serenity Gonzales.

She will live on through her daughter’s DeAnn (Eddie) Arellano of Garcia, CO; Stacy Cordova of Albuquerque, NM; son’s Tim (Annette) Cordova of Grand Island, NB; Rodney (Olympia) Cordova of Garcia, CO; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. Including numerous sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation was chosen at Alternative Cremation and Funeral Services in Colorado Springs, CO with funeral services pending a later date.
