In Remembrance of Shyrl

Shyrl An Springer of Black Forest, Colorado, passed away on February 20, 2022, at age 75.  She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Barry Springer, brother Terry Shumaker, daughter Jana Larsen, son Jeffrey Springer, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Shyrl grew up in Alaska and throughout much of her life she bred and trained Siberian Huskies.  She had a great interest in animals of all kinds and creative arts including knitting, crocheting and sewing, and was an adventuresome cook.
Shyrl studied English literature in college, read extensively in science and history and was a life-long learner.  She delved deeply into nutrition and mentored her family and friends in healthy living.
Shyrl served in leadership roles in education, on numerous school committees, PTAs, Colorado Association of School Boards and as President of Colorado District 49 School Board.  She actively supported political candidates and causes that met her high standards for integrity and conservative values.
Shyrl was a bright light of warmth, cheerfulness and wisdom, devoted to caring for her family and helping others.  Her lifelong contributions have made our world a better place and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)  May her spirit be delivered unto the Lord, that He may fulfill His plan for her.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to Hillsdale College in remembrance of Shyrl would be welcomed.
