Georgianna “Anna” Marie Gallup
December 12, 1944 – November 13, 2021
Georgianna, with family by her side, went to be with the Lord after complications with her heart in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born in Mechanicsburg, PA to John F. and Norma M. (Carmean) Kinney. She was 76.
Georgianna attended school in Durango, CO where she was known for her amazing drawings and caring smile. As a teenager, she worked on the Durango Silverton train and Easters Restaurant as a hostess. Later she worked as an Inhalation Therapist and a Dietary Supervisor.
She married Earl J. Boughan on June 28, 1961 and had 4 children. The family eventually moved to Montrose to own a restaurant (Mary’s Restaurant & Lounge). Anna loved baking and made world class cinnamon rolls and pies and often made special occasion cakes for her family and friends, including tiered wedding cakes. Earl and Anna were later divorced but continued a friendly relationship for their family.
Georgianna married Fred E. Gallup, Jr on June 8, 1992 and had a beautiful marriage of 29 years. They truly adored each other and created many wonderful memories throughout the years and blended a family resulting in 9 children. Anna enjoyed traveling with Fred in the Semi he drove in the early years of marriage. During their marriage, Fred and Anna lived in Oregon, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado, making friends everywhere they went.
Anna had a heart of gold and truly enjoyed caring for people. She was a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher and volunteered whenever needed. Georgianna and her family hosted foster children, where she proudly took in anyone who needed care and love. Georgianna was a homemaker for most of her life and a wonderful one she was! She was our matriarch that lived by faith, had plenty of love to share and adored her family.
Georgianna was a talented artist who often created beautiful homemade items that she would gift to her family and friends. She was an artist so much that she would pick colors out of a sunset and could even make a rock look pretty. She enjoyed oil and tole painting and was a member of the painter’s guild. When she learned how to shop online it was fun for her in the last few years. She was an amazing seamstress and loved to make blankets too. When artistry became too hard for her, she focused on her Bible studies, including the Jewish Bible and she truly lived the word of God. This woman was so loving she would even tell her “Alexa – Goodnight, I love you”. Anna also enjoyed genealogy, tracking down family members and tracing the family tree all the way to the 1400s.
Georgianna is survived by husband, Fred Gallup, her children Pamela (John Sonnichsen) McManus of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert (Ginger) Boughan of Parker, CO, Karen (James) Boughan-Mitchell of Melrose, NM, and Brenda (Roger) Percival of Olathe CO.
