Edee graduated from Atwater High in 1982, in Atwater, California. Following high school Edee’s pursuit of knowledge was both expansive and relentless. Being a military spouse made it difficult for her to obtain her bachelor degree in the traditional way, nonetheless she was able to graduate with her BS in computer information. She not only took countless art classes, but began teaching them as well. Later in life her education turned from the technical realm to the spiritual as she received her master’s degree in Consciousness Studies from Ernest Holmes Institute. She became an Ordained Minister for the Centers for Spiritual Living. She specialized further in studies as a certified Chaplain. She recently completed training to become a Supervisory trainer of Chaplaincy coursework. She has spent the last 8 years as a Chaplain working for CU Health Centers at Memorial Main and North Hospitals. Edee also worked as a consultant in Corporate Chaplaincy. She excelled in personal counseling and teaching classes. Her intuitive insight was startling. Her compassion was immense.
Edee was a devoted friend and family member, always willing to lend a helping hand to others, providing training and insight to others, whether in regarding care giving, finances, computer technical information or creative arts.
She enjoyed hiking in the mountains, writing and creating quilts, murals, art projects and a labyrinth in her back yard. She travelled to Iceland, England and Ireland to study her Icelandic roots.
Edee is survived by her mother; Bea Charlton, siblings; Cheri Charlton and Boris Charlton, her beloved children; Meghan Lunday, Drake Lunday, Sean McLaughlin (daughter, Beatrice Elaine and son DJ both predeceased her) niece Cassi and chosen grandchildren Payton and Phoenix. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 30th, at 2:00 pm at the Center for Spiritual Living Center 5075 Flintridge Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
