Song Sop Yu of Colorado Springs passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2nd at home with his wife and children by his side after a 5 year fight with stage 4 colon cancer. He was 63 years old.

Song was born in South Korea on December 20, 1957 to a large family with 6 siblings. He served in the Korean Navy for 7 years before learning to weld and then moving to the United States in 1990.

In 1992, he married his wife, Ok Cha Yu, and moved to Guam where they had their two children, Katherine and Kevin. Song then moved to Colorado Springs and has always called Colorado the best place to live ever since.

Song was a genuine and loving family-man that dedicated his life to providing the best for his wife and kids. He always put his family first and was generous to everyone he befriended. He was passionate about his work and loved building or fixing everything. His other interests included hiking, welding, cooking, and his puppy, Aengdu. He never gave up on his fight with cancer, and through all of the hardships he faced, he was always making sure his kids were taken care of until his last day
