Dorothy “Dottie” (Mahoney) Burst, age 63, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and formerly North Falmouth, Massachusetts, passed away at her home on September 11, 2021, following chronic complications and a courageous battle with Type 1 Diabetes. She was the loving wife and best friend of (Curtis Jeffrey) “Jeff” Burst, companion and partner of nearly 25 years.

Dottie was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School Class of 1975 (Kingston, MA), where she was involved in the Public Relations Club and Prom Committee. Raised in Weymouth, MA by the late Martin and Dorothy (Bradshaw) Mahoney, Dottie spent many years “summering” with her family in North Falmouth, eventually settling as a year- round resident and raising her family before relocating to Boulder, Colorado. Throughout her life, Dottie was an avid reader, known for staying up all night reading books with her father. An exceptional cook and baker, she loved good conversation while entertaining friends and family.  Above all, Dottie loved spending quality time with her family, playing board games, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, volunteering, visiting the public library and sharing her interests with her children and grandchildren.  She was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and shared her passion of riding and the open road with family and friends.  Dottie enjoyed nearly two decades of mountain adventures at their cabin in Westcliffe, CO. In more recent years, she loved traveling cross-country in their 40-foot motorhome, vacationing with family and friends near warm water and good seafood.

Dottie is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Everett) Ammerman and husband Tyler of Longmont, Bridget (Everett) Erickson and husband Troy of Johnstown, William P. Everett III of Denver and stepchildren, Ronny Burst and wife Barbara Hall of Colorado Springs, Renae (Burst) Birnell and husband Donny of Colorado Springs, and Sara (Burst) Rotunno and husband Dre of Colorado Springs.  She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Drusin of Carver, MA, (Sarah) Sally Adams and husband William of Falmouth, MA, Mary MacDonald and husband John of Falmouth, MA, and Martha Mahoney-Wilson and husband Randy of Seekonk, MA, and her brother William Mahoney and wife Marge of Falmouth, MA. She was the adored grandmother of Isabel, Slade, Shane, Lily, Alexis, Jonathan, Abigail, Adam, Jeffery, Cole, Jadis and Jaxon.  Dottie held close to her heart her many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members whom she loved dearly.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Martin B. Mahoney, Jr, and Brian B. Mahoney and her sister Pamela McElroy.

Memorial donations may be made to the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes Research, Denver, Colorado (https://giving.cu.edu/fund/h-peter-chase-endowed-chair).
