Robert (Bob) LaVern Knowlton passed away at the age of 75 on July 21, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Co.
Bob was born January 5, 1946 in Burlington, Washington to Robert DuBois Knowlton and Thelma Monteen Long (Jolley).
Bob was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was patriotic and always loved watching the Presidential debates and flying the American flag on national holidays.
Over the years, Bob worked in sales and customer service at Land Development Specialists, Shearson/American Express, Boettcher & Company, H&R Block, and Phil Long Ford among other companies.
Bob loved all sports, especially golf and football. He was an accomplished golfer and played golf at many well-known golf courses. During family gatherings there was always a game on the TV.
Bob was also a master of the grill and his family looked forward to a good grilled meal at the dinner table. His favorites were bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, ribs, and steak. He loved good food and going out to eat. His family remembers his favorite order of “D-9” at the Bean Bandit, a local Mexican restaurant, and his favorite peanut buster parfait (PBP) at Dairy Queen.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost 33 years, Evelyn Marcec Knowlton, his daughters Sarah Gaines, Allison Schermer, Catie Van Horn and Beth Knowlton. He is survived by his grandchildren Jamal, Daivon, LaMaray, Aria, Ellie, Leina, Amira and also his great-granddaughter Elizah. He is also survived by his sisters, Theresa Marne’ Peterson and Sharon Huber.
Outdoor services will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery-10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925 on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11 o’clock.
