Marian Pena was born in Phoenix AZ on 30 Nov 1960 to Sanford Bray and Sheila Jane Pierce.
At a young age, the family moved to Idaho Falls Idaho, where she attended Elementary through High School. She was very active in the music programs and was an accomplished flutist. She was introduced to the world of sewing during these years which turned into a long and successful career.
Marian married Frank Pena, on August 25, 1984, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, in Salt Lake City Utah, and they had 37 happy years and adventures together.  Marian and Frank lived in Salt Lake City Utah, Cumberland Maryland, Woodstock Virginia, San Diego California, and overseas in Germany and Sicily Italy. It was during these early years of their marriage that she really developed her love and skills in quilting and quilt pattern design. She was an instructor and skilled blogger, creating the website ‘Seams To Be Sew’. Through this venue she helped people around the world with all matters of quilting, design, and sewing questions and concerns, creating timeless friendships along the way.
