Evelyn Smith Coultis, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Monday, September 14, 2020. Cherished daughter of the late Attis Marion Smith and Ona Mae Smith; devoted mother of Susan Coultis, Ryan Coultis, Charlotte Coultis, and Robin Coultis; dear sister of the late Attis “Lark” Smith, Harry Smith, Ruth Whitehead and Doris Hall; and loving grandmother of Bradford and Jackson Miller, and Shaun, Dusty and Craig Coultis; great-grandmother of Penelope, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Grant, Alyssa, Slade, Odin and Connor; and a dear aunt to her nephews. Evelyn was born in Russell Springs, KY, and subsequently moved to Glendale, CA where she devoted most of her life’s work to the United States Postal Service. She retired from the Post Office after 30+ years of service to the local community.
Evelyn enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was blessed with a kind, loving heart, charming wit and nurturing manner which she gave freely of to all in her life. Always faithful to the Lord, she was a great listener and worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her children. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church located at 420 N. Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Evelyn’s honor may be made to the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.
