Dan Jean stepped into eternity on Sept 22, 2020 at the young age of 66. He is preceeded in life by a sister Marge Lasley, an infant brother Sean, and an infant son, his parentsKen Jean and Anne Hanner. He is grieved by 5 siblings in Washington State and a loved step-son Brian Carlson, and his wife Carol of 20 years. He retired from the US Armyafter 20 years, owned a small business and then schooled for his CDL where he worked as a bulk truck driver for a local cement company Transit Mix for 15 years. He wasretired medically at 52. Dan had traveled extensively to many countries where he learned languages, cultures, foods. He enjoyed Volks marching in Germany which is a form ofnon-competitive fitness walking at distances of 20 or more miles. He often took Brian on some of those Volksmarching events. Sadly by the time Dan died he could no longermove much past the bedroom and kitchen, could no longer ride the motorcycle which gave him the freedom he cherished. He was a member of American Legion Post #209Riders where he got very little riding time due to his decreased health but did enjoy camaraderie with. He was also a member of AA since 1997 and to his credit died withmany years sobriety thru 16 years of numerous medical conditions and surgeries where he fought valiantly to walk or breathe again. He was a very hard working man, extremelydetailed, diligent recordkeeper, a worthy opponent when necessary, masculine, a good provider and husband. His health began failing early, rapidly declining shortly after marriage. Knew he owed his life to our Creator, AA and the Post #209. He is already dearly missed and his humor, sentimentality and presence is more than I can put into words. I pray he is safely in the arms of Jesus whole again and pain free after such a courageous extended struggle. He is much loved and a part of me dies with him. Rest well. REVELATION 21:4  And He shallwipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.
