Carl J. Schaefer, 82, departed this world Monday, 05/25/20, at Parkmoor Village Healthcare Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado of natural causes related to a long struggle with COPD/emphysema after outliving all doctors’ expectations by many years.

A veteran of the Army (1958-1961), Carl was a resilient, friendly, loving, supportive, sometimes stubborn, and a very Godly man in life.

Born to parents, Edward & Geraldine, in 1938, Rochester, NY; he is preceded in death by his parents and only sibling, brother, Walt, and by his loving wife of 40 years, Fran, who died in 2006.

He is remembered by children, Eric Schaefer (JoAnn), Dawn Chimienti (John), Vicki Caulfield (Jason) and Carleen Turpin (Bill); grandchildren, Jake Schaefer, Kayle Caulfield, Nicole and Chris Chimienti, sister-in law Beverly Gelormini (James).  Also as a loving Uncle to several nephews, nieces and their families, as well as mourned by the many life-long friends he retained.

A strongly committed man in life to his family, friends and God, Carl has joined the Lord and those friends and relatives in spirit and peace, and may those he left behind for now, find some comfort and solace in that truth.  Rest well, deserved-soul, in the light and love of the ever-after until we all meet again.  God Bless.

Services will be planned for a later date in light of the covid pandemic.
