Scott Eugene Fuller 9/4/1957 to 12/21/2019
Born into the military life in Augsburg, Germany to Marvin Lee Fuller and Carol Marlene Fuller, Scott traveled many parts of Europe and the United States with his mom, dad, brother Marc and sisters Cheri and Gail. Shortly before Marvin retired from the military, Amy was born and everyone settled into life here in Colorado.
Scott graduated from Palmer High School in 1975. From there he worked as a roofer with his brother Marc. He fell off of a roof nearly escaping death by landing on his feet; while in the hospital recovering, he met the love of his life Deborah. Wanting out of construction, Scott retrained to pursue his passion in cooking. Working on a Culinary Arts degree from Pikes Peak Community College, he also needed work experience so he worked at the Iron Springs Chateau and after that The Sunbird. During this time he married Deborah and they had their only child Ashleigh (born October 11, 1987). Knowing that raising a child is expensive, he got back into construction learning drywall from Steve Ellison. Once he was ready, Scott started his own business in drywall and remodeling as Scott Rock. He fixed houses and later on landed a contract to fix portions of the Broadmoor Hotel. Unfortunately, during this time, his marriage to Deborah was not working out and they divorced in 1991 to raise Ashleigh separately because it was in her best interest.
Having his only daughter live with him, Scott needed something more stable, so he closed Scott Rock and looked toward taking his skills and his desire to learn to frame to the commercial side of construction. He worked for Phase 2 for about 10 years and in that time helped build The Flat Irons Crossings Mall in Boulder, CO. Needing to be closer to Ashleigh, he decided to change companies and keep himself in Colorado Springs working for Wells & West.
After many years of working harder than most, he retired early to live with Ashleigh under her and her husbands care. During these years he got to do his favorite job of all, being a grandfather to his 4 granddaughters and help Ashleigh navigate parenting as more of a bystander this time. He loved teaching his girls, making them smile, reading to them and as he said “watching the video of baby Ashleigh be played over again.”
Scott is survived by daughter Ashleigh, son-in-law Jesse and 4 granddaughters; Brezze, Jayde, Charleigh, and Penelope Graves. We love you Dadio!
