1953 ~ 2019

Bobbie Jo Stahl, 65, passed away on January 13th, in her home in the presence of her husband, Mark. They were married just one week short of 39 years, but were companions for over 45 years.  Bobbie was born in Leadville, on August 17th, 1953; her parents were Robert (deceased) and Betty Jo Bond.  She grew up in Canon City, resided in Lakewood for 30 years and was a Colorado Springs resident for the last 13 years. Except for the two years she lived in Gainesville, Florida, she was a Colorado native, through and through.

There is an Irish expression, “May the Devil find out you are dead, a half hour after you reach Heaven’s Gates” and her friends and relatives, all feel she made it.

Bobbie, while not blessed with children, was one of the ‘Best Aunties’ to all her nieces and nephews, related or not. Being feisty, yet zany, fun loving, and caring were important characteristics in her life. She provided a foster home for a young three year old, whose mother was having personal problems, for a year and a half.

Bobbie was a retired Florist, but worked in many professions, from Gravel Scale operator, to Commercial Plant Care Specialist, to restaurant chef in Florida, where she introduced them to smothered burritos, vegetarian enchiladas, meatless lasagna, and some of the best French Onion soup, they had ever had.  Bobbie was a volunteer guide at Ocean Journey, in Denver for three years, where she loved interacting with children.

Bobbie was cremated at Alternative Cremation.

Her friends can remember her in their prayers and thoughts.

There will be a celebration of her life this summer, at her cabin in Hartsel.
