Donald Wells, 62, passed away from natural causes at his home in Colorado Springs on January 19, 2021. He was a kind and caring husband, father and to his grandchildren, “PoPo.” Born on March 26, 1958 in Colorado Springs, CO, Don grew up and graduated high school in Woodland Park, CO. He attended college at Colorado State University – Pueblo where he completed a degree in automotive technology and played football. It was also in Pueblo where Don met and married his wife P.J. The family then moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where Don was employed in the oil industry, and had two children. They later relocated to Elko, Nevada.
Don lived his life in service to others, often providing care and help to those in need. He enjoyed spending his days talking with family and friends, playing his guitar, working on vehicles, and cheering for the Denver Broncos.
Don is survived by his wife, P.J. Wells; daughters Kelley (Christopher) Gaffney and Kayce (Miguel Mendoza) Wells; grandchildren Owen Gaffney, Elena Mendoza, and Rory Gaffney; and siblings Debra Kaltenbacher, Crystal DiFabio, and Tadd Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Ann (Quigley) Wells.
A celebration of Don’s life is planned for the Spring.
