Kathleen Michele Dawson Hutcheson, 75

Kathleen Michelle Hutcheson, 75, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away Friday, April 11, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.  Kathy, Kate, or Katie as she was known by all, requested no public service, but rather return to her hometown of Marshalltown, Iowa, at a later date for burial joined by her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.  She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown adjacent to her great grandparents William and Etta Brierley Dawson.

Kate was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, October 12, 1949, daughter of Robert W. Dawson, and Marcella A. Benda.  She was a 1967 graduate of Lenihan High School in Marshalltown and after working in Marshalltown for many years, migrated to Colorado Springs in the 1990s.

She is survived by her brother Bill Dawson (Natalie Bicknell) of Castle Pines, CO, sister Christine Dawson of Astoria, NY, brother Michael Dawson (Leslie Byrnes) of Toronto, Canada, brother Jim Dawson (Laura) of Phoenix, AZ, her sister LaurieDawson of Ames, IA, and by all her friends at Candlewood Apartments in Colorado Springs who she also considered her family.   She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Marcy, her long time partner Jerry Lieby, and sister in law Virginia Dawson.

 Kathy took tremendous pride in her self sufficiency while helping others in need.  She will be with us always.
