Sherry Lee Howard, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 8, 2025.

Born to Oliver Carl Turner and Betty Lee Turner, Sherry was a woman of strength, deep love, and enduring compassion. She carried with her the values instilled by her parents, values that shaped her lifelong commitment to family, community, and kindness.

Sherry is survived by her devoted daughter Troy Lynn Grubb, her son James Don Howard and his wife Goldie Howard, as well as her cherished granddaughters Shawna and Brittany. She also leaves behind two great-granddaughters, McKenna and Isabelle, who brought her immense joy and pride. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Cynthia Podlaski and Reva Bush, and her brother-in-law Brian Podlaski, who all shared in her love for life and family.

She was preceded in death by her father Oliver Carl Turner, her mother Betty Lee Turner, and her sister Deborah Carlson.

Sherry’s legacy of love, warmth, and perseverance will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Affectionately known as “Grandma” by many beyond her own family, Sherry was deeply loved throughout her community for her nurturing spirit, open heart, and unwavering support. Her compassion and gentle presence left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A celebration of life event will be determined by the family at a later date.
