With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Gorman, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dedicated accountant. Jeff was born on September 10, 1952, and passed away on March 31, 2025, at his home in Colorado Springs, with his wife, Tamara, and youngest daughter, Haddie, by his side. His family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden passing at the age of 72.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Jerome, his mother, Geraldine (née Ward), and his eldest son, Jeffrey Scott Jr., who passed away just five months earlier on October 14, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Clarence and Evelyn Petrowsky.

Jeff is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 28 years, Tamara (née Petrowsky), and his children—Samantha, Jeremy, Allen (Carrie), and Haddie. He is forever cherished and remembered by his nine grandchildren: Jeffrey, Breanna, Andrea, Sean, Ethan, Emerald, Forest, Laundin, and Dominick. Jeff’s memory will also be treasured by his siblings and their families: Susan, Debbie & Frank, Doug & Karen, and Nancy & Jimmy, as well as by Tamara’s siblings and their families: Marc & Margaret, Debbie & Tom, Kathy & Andy, and Susie & Trey.

Jeff was born in Pueblo, Colorado. He grew up on the edge of the prairie, biking, exploring, and catching snakes and toads. He had an adventurous and mischievous spirit—pulling pranks on his siblings and giving his mom a heart attack on a regular basis.

Jeff married Debra Rushing in 1970 while still in high school, and together they raised their four children. His enduring grit and spirit were evident as he balanced raising a young family, earning his accounting degree, and working full-time alongside his father in the family business. Despite the demands, his greatest joy always came from his children. Together, they created countless cherished memories on family trips to Seattle, Disneyland, and while camping in southern Colorado.

A devoted father, Jeff volunteered as a soccer coach and attended as many of his children’s activities as possible. He was also an avid bowler, winning numerous awards, and enjoyed playing in several adult sports leagues in Pueblo, including volleyball and softball. Jeff found peace and happiness in the outdoors—fishing, gardening, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and dirt biking. He always had a soft spot for animals, whether it was prairie snakes or his beloved canine companions.

Jeff’s first marriage ended in divorce, but in late 1994, he met Tamara. They married in 1996 and shared a love of hiking in and around Beulah, where they moved in 1997. Their daughter, Haddie, was born in 2001. Jeff was able to spend so much meaningful time with her—bringing her to work, where she got her first taste of the family business, and introducing her to the mountains he loved.

Jeff took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren, always eager to share advice and teach valuable life skills. He cherished spending afternoons with them at the arcade in Manitou Springs and exploring the outdoors on hikes.

Although Jeff once dreamed of becoming an archaeologist, he dutifully joined the family accounting business alongside his father and sister Debbie. After their father’s passing, he and Debbie established their own firm, and Jeff later transitioned to working independently. He continued to serve his longtime clients from his home office until the end, maintaining the friendships he had built in Pueblo and Colorado Springs.

Jeff was never afraid to embrace new opportunities and approached everything he did with honesty and integrity. His values were deeply rooted in his faith, and he was respected and well-liked by all who knew him. Jeff will be greatly missed by family, friends, and clients alike. We cherish the thought that he has found the peace and respite he so deeply deserved.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to the kind and compassionate staff at Abode Hospice for doing everything they could, and to all of our family and friends who have rallied to support us during this difficult time.

If you are family, friend, client, or simply someone who knew Jeff and would like to honor his memory, you are welcome to join a celebration of his life on April 12th at the Pueblo Nature Reserve from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
