It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Huismann, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Mark passed away unexpectedly at his place of residence at the age of 67.

Born on October 17th 1957, Mark grew up in a loving family of 6 in the Palmer Lake and Black forest areas.  The 4 brothers were always up to some mischief or playing sports.  He graduated from Falcon High School in 1976 as a member of the honor society.  Mark also was very active in sports lettering in football, basketball, and baseball.

Mark had a passion for showing his beloved Puli dogs.  They won several championships throughout the country.  He traveled for the competitions and was busy on a lot of weekends pursuing this passion.  He retired from the city of Colorado Springs after many years there working mainly in the Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division.

Mark is survived by his brothers: Kenny and Gene, sisters-in-law: Carolyn and Sue; nieces: Tennille Prichard and Mallory Huismann; nephews: Colin and Cade Huismann and several great nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Ken and Faye Huismann, and his brother, Scott Huismann.

An open house for the celebration of Mark’s life will be held on 5 April 2025, from 12-3PM at Gene and Sue Huismann’s home in Monument.  Please reach out to them if you would like to attend and share some stories and memories with the family and friends.
