Monica Rivarde Sissac was born on September 29, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on February 20, 2025 at the age of 77. Monica spent the majority of her life in New Orleans and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy High School. She was a home maker and an excellent Creole cook. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina she relocated to Lewisville, Texas in 2005 with her family. She was the daughter of the late Louis C Rivarde, Sr. and Inez Toulme Rivarde, and the wife of the late Henry P Sissac, Jr. Mother of Robert K Sissac, Sr. (Candace) and Lee J Sissac. Grandmother of Robert Sissac, Jr. (Adela), Jasmine Jones, Brianna Curry, Sydney Dufauchard, Gilbert Johnson III, and Gavin Johnson. Great grandmother of Aubrey Sissac and Zak Vaughan. Survived by sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rivarde, Sheila Greenup (Rodney) and Ann Sissac, and two lifelong friends, Brenda Brown and Sandra Girard. Preceded in death by siblings Jewel Rivarde Meyers and Louis C. Rivarde, Jr., brothers-in-law Harold Meyers, Lionel Sissac, Walter Glapion, and Brent Baudy Sr., and sisters-in-law Albertine Rivarde, Brenda Glapion and Linda Baudy, in-laws Henry Sissac Sr. and Marian Haller Sissac. Also survived by a host of endearing nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. The family wishes to give special thanks to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion, dedication and teamwork. Monica wished for no funeral or celebration of life.
