Marcelle Kuchta, known to many as Marcie, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on September 15, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, Marcie lived a life devoted to faith, learning, and family. She was often known as the Braveheart for her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit.

Marcie’s academic journey led her from high school in Montgomery, Alabama, graduating in 1974, to Belleville Area College and Park College. Her dedication to education culminated in earning a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis on May 17, 1985. A recipient of the prestigious Presidential Scholarship and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, Marcie was deeply committed to personal growth and intellectual exploration.

Guided by faith and a strong sense of purpose, Marcie dedicated her career to serving others as a Christian practitioner. Her unwavering commitment to fostering a more just and compassionate world left an indelible mark on many lives.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Marcie had a profound love for horses and a passion for competitive dressage. Not only did she compete with skill and grace, but she also shared her knowledge by teaching dressage to others—passing on both expertise and enthusiasm for the sport.

Marcie is survived by her daughter, Shanna McFarland; her sons, Nicholas Klodetsky and Christian Wirsing; her sister, Sister Rosaria; and her brother, John M. Kuchta.

She was predeceased by her parents, John C. Kuchta and Gloria M. Ellis.

Marcie’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and faith will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
