Jared Alejandro Lee

Jared Alejandro Lee, 49, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on January 3, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1975, in Bitburg, Germany, to Josefina and Darrel Lee.

From an early age, Jared displayed an undeniable love for sports and competition. A star athlete at Sierra High School in Colorado Springs, he earned the title of Boys Swimming Most Valuable Player in 1991, 1993, and 1994. Jared also excelled as a football player for Sierra High, where his natural athletic talent was evident on the field. Beyond his own achievements, Jared was a passionate fan of college football and a lifelong supporter of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

After high school, Jared dedicated himself to serving his country as a proud member of the United States Navy. Rising to the rank of E6, he served most of his distinguished career aboard the USS Montpelier and later the USS Albany, primarily stationed out of the Norfolk Naval Weapons Station in Norfolk, Virginia. Jared’s expertise as an Electronics Technician specializing in navigation and equipment maintenance contributed greatly to the success of his submarines and missions. His career was marked by accolades, including medals for his role in the Arctic and the Global War on Terrorism campaigns. Jared retired honorably from active duty at the Naval Submarine Force Facility in Little Creek, Virginia, a testament to his lifelong dedication to service.

Jared’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. A devout Christian, he was an active member of his church, serving as a Deacon and a member of the choir. His love for God and his community were evident in all that he did. Jared found joy in the simple things, such as family trips to Virginia Beach during their time living in Norfolk, Virginia. One treasured memory was how he would pull his children in a dinghy, swimming far toward the horizon and back, a perfect reflection of his adventurous spirit and devotion to his family.

Jared’s personality was a blend of warmth, humor, and intellect. A self-proclaimed dork – he loved Star Wars, Star Trek, and sci-fi novels, as well as collecting treasures like comic books, Marvel cars, and Beanie Babies. He valued education and made it a priority to instill a love of learning in his children, always pushing them to excel academically.

Jared is survived by his mother, Josefina; his brother, Darrel; his sister, Naomi; his beloved children, Cambri, Brittani, Ashley, and Zachariah; and his beautiful grandchildren, Logan, Arabella, Camden, Gabriel, Everly, Oliver, Dominic, Jayden, and Amia. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and sibling, always there to offer understanding, comfort, and unwavering support. His family will remember him as a dedicated serviceman, a devout Christian, and a man who truly cherished his time with loved ones.

A celebration of Jared’s life will be held at Pike Peak National Cemetery on January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Jared Alejandro Lee will forever be remembered for his selflessness, humor, and the profound love he gave to all who knew him.
