Charmaine Elizabeth Barney passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Monday, January 20, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on April 26, 1931, in Dubuque, Iowa.
Charmaine attended the University of Wisconsin, where she studied medicine and became a certified Medical Technologist. She dedicated her life to her family and was known for her generosity and kindness toward those in need.
She was married to William James Barney for 53 years until his passing in 2009. Charmaine was also preceded in death by her parents, Al and Betty Rieselman, and her sister, Jeanine Lochtefeld of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Rieselman of Madison, Wisconsin; her seven children: Kevin, Craig (Marla), Dr. Brent (Tina), Brad (Donna), Bill (Loretta), David (Toni), and Sharyl Haskin (Robert); as well as 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be deeply missed.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Dr., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918. A rosary will be prayed at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m., with a reception at 11:00 a.m. Charmaine will be interred along with her husband at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to EWTN or the Marian House in Colorado Springs.
