Nathan John Frey, aged 28 years, passed away at Life Care Center of Pueblo, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born on December 1, 1996 in Colorado Springs. At six months of age, he was adopted by his paternal grandparents, James William Frey and Shiela Jean Frey who raised him in Colorado Springs.

When Nathan was 12 years old, his father, Jeffrey Thomas Frey trained and became his Certified Nursing Assistant, allowing his dad to be his day time caretaker. Nathan attended  Discovery Canyon Campus in Colorado Springs and graduated in 2015. It was also in 2015 when Jeffrey married Melissa Kaye Frey (Quintana). A year later, Nathan moved in permanently with his dad and new mom. Within a few years, Nathan was the proud older brother to Braylon Wilken Frey and Lyncoln Emmery Frey.

Nathan worked hard every single day of his life. What most people take for granted, he worked extra hard to accomplish. He loved biology and requested his caretakers read straight out of a biology textbook. He is well known to love a good joke. When he arrived for different therapies, he would receive help in finding and recording a joke to then go office to office and play for everyone present. His contagious smile and fun sense of humor captivated any and all who were blessed to know him. He loved to watch and follow his favorite hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Aside from professional hockey, biology and jokes, he enjoyed books. Harry Potter and The Magic Treehouse series were among his favorites and he liked having them read to him over and over again. When not reading, Nathan enjoyed going to the movies and streaming his favorite Disney movies and shows. He also loved bowling and excursions to the mall to ride as many elevators as possible.

He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Melissa of Pueblo, his younger brother, Braylon, his younger sister, Lyncoln, both of Pueblo, his paternal grandfather, James (Linda) of Colorado Springs, his grandparents, Kenneth (Kimberly) Quintana of Alamosa, great-grandparents, Janice (Kenneth) Hardison of Colorado Springs, Benina Quintana of Monte Vista, uncle Timothy (Keri) of Hickman, NE, aunts Mindy (Matt) Griego of Colorado Springs, Meagan (David) Dudleston of Alamosa, Morgan (Antonio) Edwards of Ellicott, and many cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Nathan is preceded in death by his grandmother, Shiela, his great-grandmother, Doris Zicafoose, and great grandfather, Alberto Quintana.

Nathan is dearly loved and will be missed. His life was a light and a beacon of hope to many, often receiving acknowledgement of such from complete strangers. He is with his Savior, running, jumping, and singing for the first time.
