Linda Jean Del Nore (Weirs) passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on January 9, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born August 3, 1943, in Johnstown, New York to the late William and Carolyn Weirs.

Linda married Alonso M. Tirado in Washington, D.C. in March of 1967 and had two sons, Gijo and Andy. Years later, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they had two more children, Evita and Antonio. During this time of her life, she became passionate about running and spent many early mornings running with either her husband or with her two malamutes as companions.

Upon divorcing, Linda lived in various locations from Scott’s Valley, California to Woodland Park, Colorado, and held down a variety of jobs from newspaper copywriter to Wells Fargo truck driver to court reporter. But it was in Woodland Park that she pursued and accomplished her desire to become a deputy for the Teller County Sheriff’s Department. She also met her future husband, Larry Del Nore.

Larry and Linda married in March of 2000 and lived in Florissant, Colorado. Their years together were marked by working for and eventually resigning from the Sheriff’s department, raising several beloved German Shepherds, and frequently traveling by truck and camper to their favorite locales of Tecopa,  Sandy Valley, New Mexico, and elsewhere. As Linda once wrote, “It’s the gypsy life for me!”, and that life brought her so much joy.

Linda was a deeply talented and incredibly humorous writer as well as an unbelievably amazing and intuitive cook. Her life was punctuated by her love of so many things: running, writing, cooking, dogs, any movie with a string of car crashes, all things Cowboy or Southwestern themed, Handel’s Messiah, older Christian hymns, thrift shopping, country music, desert getaways, and collecting rocks to name some of the most memorable.

But the thing Linda may have loved most was rising in the dark hours of the morning to drink coffee and read her well-worn black King James version Bible. It is because of this that the richest legacy Linda left was to her family; a meaningful faith in the Lord and a love for His Word.

Linda Jean is survived by her loyal and loving cowboy husband, Larry Del Nore, stepdaughter Staci; her son, Gijo Tirado and fiancée Linda Burritt; her son Andy Tirado, wife Nan, and their children, Sophie, Drew, Will, Peter, and Nate; her daughter, Evita Koepke, husband Kevin, and their children Joshua, Brice, and Reed, and her son Antonio. She also has great-grandchildren Evie, Liam, Ellis, Wilder, and Ginny.

You will forever live in our hearts and in our memories. We trust that this is not “good-bye”, but rather “we’ll see you soon.”

We love you.
