Elsie Jane Buol (EJ)

Elsie Jane Buol, affectionately known as EJ, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on December 25, 1926, in Trinidad, Colorado, EJ was a beacon of love, kindness, and selflessness to all who knew her.
EJ was married to Russell Clavin Buol of Burlington, Colorado, and together they shared a life filled with adventure, family, and faith.
She is survived by her son, Tom Buol (Pam) and Daughter-In-Law Linda; her grandchildren, Tim Buol; Chris Buol (Sandy); Austin Buol; Nicki J (Buol) (DJ) Arnberger and her sister, Ann (Gross) Willson. EJ was preceded in death by her husband Russell Calvin Buol; her parents, Clarence and Helen (Jamieson) Gross, her sons, David Buol and Don Buol, and her sister, Janet (Gross) Graham.
EJ’s impact extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a pillar of support and love to her sister’s children and grandchildren.
EJ had a lifelong passion for music, playing both the cello and piano with grace and joy. She loved horseback riding, sharing laughter, and spending quality time with family and friends.
After marrying Russ, they began their life together in Burlington, Colorado, enjoying the ranching lifestyle. Russ’s service in the U.S. Air Force brought the family to Japan and the Philippines, where they embraced the rich culture and unique experiences of military life. Following Russ’s military career, they moved to Lubbock, Texas, where they owned and operated a successful Viking Sewing Machine business. They later relocated the business to Glendale, Arizona. After Russ’s passing, EJ owned and operated a Bed & Breakfast in Flagstaff, Arizona
