In Loving Memory of Simba Lyons
February 14, 1965 – November 13, 2024

Simba Lyons, 59, of Kansas City, left this world on November 13, 2024. A man of wisdom, kindness, and immeasurable strength, Simba brought light and positivity to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Born in Kansas City, Simba dedicated his life to community and compassion. He was the co-founder of the 757 Furs group alongside Casey Redfox and the founder of Tidewater Pride, organizations that touched countless lives through connection and celebration. Simba was also a skilled auto-body mechanic who lent his expertise to various Maaco shops throughout his career, earning admiration for his craftsmanship and work ethic.

Simba’s love of animals shone brightly in his life, from fostering dogs to forming a close bond with his beloved parrot. An avid fan of nature, he found solace in the outdoors, and his remains will be spread in the Colorado mountains in the summer of 2025—a place that resonated deeply with his adventurous spirit.

Simba is survived by his devoted husband, Ryver, and his cherished son, Charlie. To Ryver, Simba was the love of his life, a partner who made the world brighter with his stories, humor, and unwavering love. Reflecting on their 16 years together, Ryver shared, “Simba is a big part of why I am alive today, the man I am today. His love made me whole.”

One of Simba’s most enduring traits was his ability to tell a story—a gift that will echo in the memories of those he left behind. Whether reminiscing about life or joking about their first date’s tree-fungus enthusiast, Simba’s humor and heart brought joy to every room.

Simba’s life was a testament to kindness, connection, and love. His impact will forever be felt, and he will be missed more than words can express.
