On October 13, 2024, Amanda Armstrong passed away in Colorado Springs after a long battle from diabetes and dialysis. She was 47 years old.
Amanda is survived by her mother, Marcia Armstrong, of Colorado Springs, her husband, Nathan Sorensen, her children Chasen Sorensen and Caleb Sorensen, and her brother Ryan Armstrong all who reside in Colorado Springs. Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents William Howard Armstrong, her grandmother Wilma Ohl Armstrong and her father David Howard Armstrong.
Amanda was born on September 13, 1977, in Placerville, CA. She attended El Dorado High School in Placerville, Palmer High School in Colorado Springs and graduated from Coronado High School in 1996. Upon graduation Amanda worked full-time for Longs Drug Store where she worked as a pharmacy technician.
Amanda and Nathan Sorensen were married in November,2001. They welcomed their first child Chasen in June 2002 and Caleb in 2004. Amanda switched careers and became a CNA after Caleb was born with disabilities. She worked for Nursing and Therapy Services of Colorado Springs until her passing.
Amanda’s hobbies were reading, spending time with family, adult coloring and all types of crafting. She loved going to the mountains, riding ATVs, camping and 4- wheeling.
Amanda was an amazing woman, wife, mom and friend. She had such an unselfish heart for people. Amanda cared so deeply for people she would help even if she was struggling with her diabetes. She would put others before herself. If she could make them happy it would also make her happy.
A celebration of life for Amanda is scheduled for November 11, 2024, at Restoration Church located at 9355 Peaceful Valley Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80925. It will be followed by a reception at the church. Flowers can be sent to the Restoration Church. Donations to Juvenile Diabetes Association.
