John Raymond Shiner Jr.
February 9, 1973 – October 15, 2024

John Raymond Shiner Jr., 51, passed away on October 15, 2024. Born on February 9, 1973, John lived a life full of passion and dedication. He was an avid toy collector with a particular love for Transformers and Star Wars memorabilia, traveling across the country to attend toy shows and add to his beloved collection.

In 2012, John obtained his CDL and took pride in his work as a truck driver, enjoying cross-country hauls as well as local construction work. Beyond his professional endeavors, John was known for his compassionate heart. He was instrumental in helping those suffering from addiction, working alongside his former wife, Toni Gierhart, to open four sobriety homes that provided a safe haven and support for many in recovery.

John played a meaningful role in the life of his stepson, Timothy Rowland Jr., whom he helped raise into the man he is today. His legacy is one of generosity, care, and love for both his family and the community he served.

John is survived by his former wife, Toni Gierhart; stepson, Timothy Rowland Jr.; sister, Teresa Hartling; and two nephews, Andrew and Nick Valdez.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a sobriety house of your choice, continuing John’s commitment to helping others.
