Mary Lou Robertson Jackson (76) passed away on August 14, 2024 with family by her side in her home that she cherished. Mary was born and raised in Taft, CA where she met the love of her life, Randy. Mary and Randy wed in 1969 and over the years, life carried them from all over California to Utah to Colorado to Illinois and finally back to Colorado again.

Mary was a kind woman and cared deeply for people, often giving her time and possessions to help others. Mary’s greatest pride and joy was her family, and she loved when they would visit her and Randy in Colorado. She talked almost daily to her daughters on the phone. Mary enjoyed family time above all else, especially holiday meals and playing card games with her grandchildren.  She was notorious for trying to talk her way out of dealing the cards when it was her turn. Mary was a doting wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always had a sandwich made for you, would call when you were having a bad day, send a little note in the mail with a smiley face, and was always ready to listen or lend advice.  Mary loved all animals (except snakes). She had many dogs and cats throughout her life who were her treasured companions as well as a few ducks and a raccoon in her younger, more adventurous years. Over the years, Mary was an avid reader, a Girl Scout leader, a restaurant explorer, a fantastic patio gardener, a huge fan of the NCAA basketball tournament and a darn good cook! She made phenomenal chicken noodle soup and the best turkey gravy. Mary was always up for an adventure but also believed in enjoying all things in life in moderation.

Mary is survived by many that will miss her dearly including her husband, Randy, of nearly 55 years, her daughters and their spouses Kinsey Jackson-Ford and Mike Ford and Carrie and Jon Shen, her grandchildren Moira, Nora, Abby, Nolan and Malia, as well as her dear sisters and brother and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will host a celebration of life at the family home at a date in the near future. In lieu of flowers or food, please consider making a donation to El Centro de los Pobres,  ℅ Sister Nancy Crafton, 214 US 50-BUS, Avondale, CO 81022.
