Kevin John Knaack was born on July 4, 1956 on Johnson Air Force Base in Japan to Herb and Mary Knaack.

His father’s military career allowed Kevin and his family to live all over the world, from the Phillipines to Long Island, New York to Germany.

Wherever they lived, his parents believed in living among the locals to fully embrace the culture.

Kevin was a custom motorcycle and car builder. He found his calling and passion at 15 years old working in a motorcycle shop in Germany. He quickly became a master at his craft.

In 1983 Kevin took a job with the Department of Defense as a logistics assistance representative. He worked on all combat equipment, but his specialty was tanks. He had a special “knaack” for teaching the young soldiers how to work on the equipment.

Kevin is survived by his wife Gina. They were happily married for over 23 years. His children Shane (Kayla), Ashlyn (Derrick), Sarah (Craig), and David. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jakob, Olivia, Salem, Jaxon, Bodhi and his siblings Suzanne, Sean, and Sharon. He will be missed by his beloved mother-in-law Shirley, father-in-law Charlie, brother-in-law Dean, and his little buddy Walter the Wonder Dog. He will also be lovingly remembered by a host of family and friends throughout the world.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 7 at noon at Patty Jewett Gold Course 900 E. Española, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Please honor Kevin by wearing jeans and a flannel shirt.
