Elaine C. (Meyer) Woodmansee, 72, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 26th, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Born on June 16, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Elaine was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Marie Meyer. She grew up on a small farm in Howell, Michigan, alongside her seven siblings: Judy, Cindy, Kathy, Carol, Tony, Bill, and Larry. Raised as a devout Catholic, Elaine developed a strong empathetic spirit from a young age, which fueled her lifelong passion for helping others.

Elaine dedicated nearly ten years of her life to nursing, where she traveled extensively and provided compassionate care. Afterward, she transitioned into administrative services, eventually settling in Michigan, where she retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. She later earned her bachelor’s degree and worked in administrative case work for Michigan State University before moving to Arizona to work for Saint Vincent de Paul. Ultimately, Elaine relocated to Arkansas and then to Colorado to live with her son as her health began to decline.

Elaine enjoyed researching and compiling a robust genealogy record that spanned roughly twenty generations. She loved to walk, regularly fostered dogs, and took joy in baking for everyone around her, especially first responders. Known for her kind-heartedness and generosity, Elaine would anonymously pay for people’s bills, food, or any other needs for those less fortunate. A staple in her church community, she blessed others without seeking recognition.

Elaine is survived by her only son, Anthony Woodmansee, a retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer, and her two cherished grandchildren, Isaac and Isobel. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Elaine will be remembered in spirit by all who loved her. No service is planned due to the widespread nature of the family across the country. Everyone was able to say their goodbyes prior to her passing, which aided in the peacefulness of her crossing to Christ.
