Charles Raymond Valdez, 74, passed away July 6, 2024, at his home in Pueblo West. Preceded in death by his daughter, Kristina Valdez; parents, Juan and Juanita Valdez; and in-laws Henry and Abelina Martinez. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Valdez; children, Charles Jr. (Chuck) and Sue Valdez, Evelyn and Seth Clayton, Isabella Montoya, and Charly Wollaston; grandchildren, Chelsea, Candace, Kristina, Eric, Madelyn, and Hannah.  A lifetime Pueblo resident, Charles was born Dec. 30, 1949. He worked 20 years at Colorado Department of Corrections. Charles spent 50 years practicing and teaching Taekwondo in Pueblo and earned a 6th degree blackbelt. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, skiing, fishing, camping, and exploring the outdoors. CR is dearly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters and brothers, extended family, and his Taekwondo family. Mass will be held at the Shrine of Saint Therese on Friday, July 12th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles’ name to the Pueblo YMCA where he changed countless lives as a longtime instructor of Taekwondo.
