Jana Sodic

October 22, 1970 – June 21, 2024

Jana Sodic, age 53, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 21, 2024. Jana was born on October 22, 1970, to Marca and Frank “Butch” Sodic, and was the youngest of four daughters. As a proud native she made her home and raised her children among lifelong friends and family in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

Jana loved life and always lived it to the fullest. She lived for today and figured the rest out later. Jana always had a tremendous work ethic and threw her whole heart into everything she did, especially her children. She was a full-time sports mom following her children year-round to various tournaments and games. She was an exceptional softball coach for many years. Jana had a great love for the outdoors, always planning hiking, camping and fishing trips. She treasured her annual hunting trip in the fall with her family. Her dogs Halo and Maya were equally involved in her adventures, never leaving her side. Jana will be remembered for the amazing, strong and beautiful woman she was.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marca Sodic.She leaves behind and will be greatly missed by her children Nolan Nussbaum, Peyton Nussbaum, Kendal (Lucas) Tjugum; her father, Frank “Butch” Sodic; her sisters, Teresa (Mark) Gendron, Korinna (Duxton) Milam, Tanya (Scott) Brown and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.

For those who would like to celebrate Jana’s life there will be a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, July 7 from1:00pm- 4:00pm at Red Rocks Barn, 2700 Robinson St, Colorado Springs, CO. Brightly-colored attire is encouraged.
