Kenneth (Ken) Leroy Peterson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth (Ken) Leroy
Peterson, aged 91, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. Ken passed away
peacefully on June 10, 2024.

Born on September 24, 1932, in Rapid City, South Dakota, Ken grew up with a
deep sense of duty and commitment. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the
United States Airforce, where he served bravely during the Korean War.
Ken and Betty were married in Rapid City, South Dakota, in 1954, and had one
daughter, Kathi. In 1980, after the tragic loss of their spouses, Ken and
Marilyn united their lives and families. Their 42-year marriage stood as a
testament to their love for each other and his family. Ken’s greatest joy
was his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and he took delight in serving
others in his community and church family.

He is preceded in death by his mother Laberta, his father, Bert and his older brother, Stan.  He is survived by his sisters, Mary and Leatta and his six children, Kathi (husband/Daniel), Susan (husband/Pete), Mary (husband/Arley), Barbara (husband/Jeff), Rachel and Sarah, seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
