**In Loving Memory of Billy (Bill) Joe Burnett**
*August 14, 1947 – June 3, 2024*
It is with very heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Burnett, who left us on June 3, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on August 14, 1947, in Boulder, Colorado, Bill lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service.
Bill was a man who exemplified devotion in every aspect of his life. He treated his beloved wife, Rose, like a queen, cherishing every moment they spent together. Their love story was a testament to unwavering commitment and joy, spanning over 50 beautiful years. Together, they enjoyed many adventures, including camping, fishing, and bike riding, which brought them closer to nature and to each other.
Bill’s green thumb was evident in his meticulous care of his yard and vegetable garden, where he found solace and satisfaction. A man of many talents, he kept himself busy with various home projects, always improving and nurturing his surroundings. He was also a prankster and loved to make people laugh and smile.
A proud veteran, Bill served as a medic in the United States Army, demonstrating his compassion and bravery. Following his service, he served on the Manteca Police Department as a Reserve Officer. He then dedicated 53 years of his life as an X-ray Technician for the U.S. Government, where his expertise and kindness touched countless lives.
Bill is survived by his wife and love of his life, Rose Mary Burnett; his cherished daughters Mary (Jim) Lettau of Northglenn, Colorado and Brooke (John) Bos of Modesto, California, and his treasured grandchildren Christian “CJ” Lettau and Megan and Isaac Bos. He also leaves behind his brothers, Marcell and Danny McDaniel, who shared in the memories and milestones of his remarkable journey.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Jenie and Bill McDaniel and his brothers Jerry, Tommy, and Jimmy Burnett.
Bill’s legacy is one of love, dedication and an unwavering spirit. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his steadfast commitment to his family and his boundless generosity. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will continue to inspire us every day.
Rest in peace, Billy Joe Burnett. Your life was a beacon of love and strength and your spirit will forever be in our hearts. You will be sorely missed and dearly loved.
