Rojean Dee Block, born on January 23, 1954, passed away on June 3, 2024. Rojean was the beloved daughter of Ivan and Frances Block of Hereford, Texas.

Rojean graduated from Hereford High School in 1972 and later from Texas Christian University (TCU) in 1978. She dedicated her professional life to Reliance Insurance as a casualty examiner from 1979 to 1999.

Though she never married and had no children, Rojean cultivated a wide circle of cherished friends and maintained close relationships with her family. She enjoyed cooking (in her younger days), collecting antiques, her cat, Clifford and savoring a good cup of coffee. She had a passion for music, regularly attending concerts, especially those featuring bands from “back in the day.” A highlight of her year was her annual trip to the Indianapolis 500 with friends, a tradition she loved dearly.

Rojean’s life took her to various places, including Dallas, Philadelphia and Durham, NC. Upon retirement, she returned to Hereford to be near family and friends. During this time, she opened the restaurant “Down the Block,” a local favorite until she closed it in 2011. She eventually realized her dream of owning a log cabin in the Rocky Mountains of Florissant, CO.

Rojean was a devoted aunt to nine nieces and nephews (and many great-nieces and nephews) who loved her dearly. Known as the “cool aunt,” her legacy of joy, sense of humor, and generosity will be remembered by all.

Rojean was preceded in death by her father, Ivan, in 2001; her mother, Frances, in 2012; and her brother, Lewis Block, in 2020. She is survived by her brother, David Block, and his wife, Lynn, of Alpine, WY; her sister-in-law, Linda, of Amarillo; her beloved cousins; and her cherished nieces and nephews: Deborah, Carrie, Traci, Misty, Travis, Britni, Jolie, Ryan, and Rachel, along with their children.

Rojean’s vibrant spirit and the love she shared with those around her will never be forgotten.

Rojean never liked anyone “making a fuss” over her, and per her wishes, there will be no services. A few of her nieces and nephews have agreed to take a road trip to scatter her ashes where she wished. She would have loved this.
