Jason Michael Berman, 47, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, originally Portage, Indiana was born August 29, 1976 in Valparaiso, In. He passed away December 1, 2023 with his beloved children Rileigh and Jonathan and former girlfriend and Jonathan’s mother Jillian Hartman by his side. Jason was born to the most loving parents Michael and Judy Berman who also preceded him in death and were waiting to welcome him into the gates of heaven. He was also preceded in death by his favorite cousie wasie, Carolyn Surovic, only a month ago. Jason is survived by his beloved children Rileigh and Jonathan Berman of Colorado Springs; Jonathan’s mom, Jillian Hartman of Colorado Springs; his loving sister Melissa(Rob) Glosa of Hammond, Indiana; his niece Jade Ramos and nephew Peter Ramos also of Hammond; Aunts Joanne (Steve)Surovic of Crown Point, Indiana and Donna Hirchak of Merrillville, Indiana; Uncle Larry(Paula)Berman of the Villages, Florida and Uncle Tom Kunc of Cleveland, Ohio, and many cousins, extended family, and friends. 

Jason graduated from Portage High School in 1994. He was an avid sports fan. He would read the sports page in the newspaper from front to back. He could answer any trivia question about anything to do with sports. Chicago sports were his favorite and anyone that knew him knew he was a diehard Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan! 

Jason loved his family and friends fiercely. He would do anything he could for them and even if years passed you always held a special place in his heart. We will be having a memorial service for Jason at a later date in the spring when we can bring everyone together back in his hometown.
