Leon Schacher reached the milestone of being an octogenarian. He passed away peacefully on September 15th, 2023 in Colorado Springs while in Rehab.  He was a native of Underwood, ND until he got married.  After being married to Velma Landenberger in 1965 they soon relocated to Kansas.  He had one daughter, Kandee.

He was involved with building Silo’s and then making PVP Pipes at CertainTeed while residing in Kansas. His family moved back to Mandan, ND in 1979 where he began working as a Tire technician at Firestone until retirement in 2002.  He got remarried to Elizabeth Brockman in 2005 and they relocated to Colorado Springs later that year.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football & baseball, roadtrips and telling stories of the past.  He had a unique sense of humor, enjoyed razzing everyone and being a jokester.  His giggle will not be forgotten.  His last great love in life was his grand-dog, Maisie.

He is survived by his Daughter, Kandee Schacher (Colorado Springs, CO), Brother James & Shirley Schacher (Blain, MN), Sister in Law,  Eileen Schacher (Wilmington, NC) and several nieces and nephews.

A gravesite family celebration will occur in October
